Sales Account Executive

Position Summary

We are looking for a high-energy, competitive, successful individual to join our team as an Account Executive. The Account Executive is responsible for driving the sales process in new accounts through a combination of virtual and direct sales methods. This includes prospecting, qualifying and directly selling the Validic solution to large Corporate Wellness organizations, Healthcare Systems, Pharmaceutical Companies, CRO organizations and Payers. The right candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter with a desire and ability to overcome obstacles in order to overachieve. He or she must be able to articulate how Validic’s solutions can help the potential client meet key objectives, develop proposals to meet those needs, drive the contracting process, and efficiently close targeted opportunities.

The Validic Sales Team is a primarily inside sales team working out of our downtown Durham office.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prospect for new business. This includes outbound calling, follow-up on leads generated through Marketing activity, and efficiently qualify sales opportunities to determine prospect readiness
  • Identify and establish relationships with key leaders (decision makers/influencers) and industry related professionals
  • Demonstrate the Validic solution and value proposition through compelling and effective sales presentations
  • Build and maintain sales pipeline to support overachievement of established sales objectives
  • Utilize CRM (Salesforce) to document sales activity and results
  • Identifying and closing opportunities with varying sales cycles
  • Oversee end-to-end sales process from opportunity identification to contract execution and transition to Ops team
  • Maintain fluency in articulating Validic’s products and capabilities and align them with client business requirements
  • Continually maintain industry and solution knowledge and evaluate needs, trends, and competition


  • 5+ years healthcare sales experience with a track record of success
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or related field; if no degree, 7+ years healthcare sales experience
  • Strong understanding of Healthcare, Wellness, Pharma/CRO, Life Science, and Healthcare Technology landscape
  • Competitive spirit and desire to overachieve
  • Outstanding relationship building skills with a high degree of responsiveness and integrity
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude toward an ever-changing business climate
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Self-directed, highly organized, multi-task capable, time efficient, and proficient in problem solving
  • Excellent influencing and consultative skills; and the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues and opportunities
  • Proficiency in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Docs and business support applications
  • Bias for action. “Can do” style and a passion for healthcare technology
  • Excellent and effective presentation and public speaking skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed and required by the client and/or business (20% of the time)
